PUBLIC INTEREST AND JUDICIAL REVIEW
When a decision has been made about you, a family member or loved one, by a Government Department or similar body which you believe has encroached on your human rights to:
- privacy
- education
- freedom of movement,
- freedom of action or
- right to make a living,
then it is open to you to ask the Courts to adjudicate on that decision.
We have a special interest in protecting the rights of vulnerable people to obtain the services they need to live a full and rewarding life. We have worked with many individuals and families of people with specific needs to promote their interests and secure their rights and entitlements. We are solution focused, focusing on the rights of the person at the centre of a given situation and work towards collaborative resolutions in first instance.
We Have:
- engaged with the HSE and other Care Providers on behalf of individuals and family;
- negotiated agreements for care for high needs individuals;
- secured the repatriation of minors under the Hague Convention on Child Abduction.
Muriel has demonstrated courage to take on the establishment when necessary and challenge the status quo, showing a willingness to be an advocate for change.
